Video Identification is a supporting camera for the MacFinish 2D USB that provides a head on view of the finish line. For those races which do not finish in lanes, 800m, 3000m and so on, it can be near impossible to identify athletes from the photo finish image. However with the Video ID, this job could not be simpler.

A high resolution camera is placed 3 to 5 metres behind the finish line and connected to the photo finish computer. The finish video is automatically taken together with the photo finish image, saved as the same file and viewable in the same window. The video image automatically synchronises to the selected athlete on the photo finish image making identification of an athlete as easy as possible.

The Video ID also comes with a portable PC, which processes the information from the camera and sends it to the photo finish computer via an Ethernet cable, therefore giving a much faster speed of data transfer.
